Rugby World Cup 2021
The 2021 Rugby World Cup is the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men’s rugby union teams. It is to be held in New Zealand from 18 September to 16 October. This will be the first time that a host nation has staged consecutive tournaments, after hosting the 2011 event.
New Zealand was awarded hosting rights in 2015, following a vote by members of World Rugby. The tournament will feature 20 nations – an increase from 16 in previous events – with all matches played across 10 venues located in Auckland and Christchurch. The Opening Match and Final will take place at Eden Park in Auckland, while games will also be hosted at Wellington Regional Stadium and Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin – both of which are newly built stadiums purpose-built for rugby union.
This will be New Zealand’s fifth time hosting the tournament, having previously done so in 1987, 2011 and most recently 2015; as well as co-hosting the inaugural tournament alongside Australia in 1987. England are currently reigning champions after defeating South Africa 32–12 in Yokohama during the 2019 tournament final – their second title overall.

Where is It Being Held

What Time Does It Start
The time zone in which an event occurs is often confusing for people who are not familiar with it. For example, the Academy Awards ceremony is always held on a Sunday night in Hollywood, California. But what time does it start?
Pacific Standard Time (PST), of course! So, if you’re planning to watch the Oscars live, be sure to adjust for your local time zone accordingly. The red carpet arrivals usually begin around 4pm PST, and the awards ceremony itself starts at 8pm PST.
